Barnsley Leaders VS Teesside Lions

Captain Sam Bywater hit twenty six points including his first three pointer in an outstanding individual performance as Barnsley Leaders  U16s lost to two strong teams from Leeds and Teesside at Durham University Sports Centre on Saturday.( Basketball England Regional League).  The powerful Leeds LDM side hit Barnsley with a 30-11 first half deficit, the Leaders improved in the second half hitting twenty points to Leeds thirty two, but still suffered a 90-33 defeat. 
The Leaders then faced Teesside Lions, the team that had defeated Leeds LDM, in the opening game of the three game fixture. Again the Leaders were under pressure, but their eight player team kept their focus to repeat their thirty three point tally against the Lions score of seventy three. All but two of the Leaders team were underage in the U16 age group, with four of the team two years underage ie U14s.
