Barnsley Leaders VS Goals Centre U11 Tournaments

Darfield Dunkers' teams performed well in the South Yorkshire tournament at Goals Centre Sheffield on Sunday with a record of five wins two draws and two defeats. Dunkers U11s started with a 4-4 draw against Rotherham Hawks with both sides turning the ball over and missing scoring opportunities. These tendencies continued for the Dunkers into the second game when they were hit hard by the Hatters who won by a 20-8 score-line. The team improved well after this setback to win 10-6 against All Saints with Jacob Danks (4) Joseph Taylor (4) and Archie Carr scoring the points. In their second round of games the Dunkers maintained their improvement with a 6-0 win over Rotherham Hawks, a 6-6 draw against the Hatters and another win over All Saints by 8-4. Forward Jacob Danks was dominant under the boards finishing with a tournament total of 24 points.

Tarron Kenworthy made his debut for the Dunkers Rookies as they opened with a 10-6 defeat at the hands of Rotherham Hawks A. The Rookies then went on to defeat Rotherham Hawks B by a 14-4 margin with Sam Laffy hitting eight points, Tarran Kenworthy four, and Maisy Carr two. With increased confidence from this win the Rookies then went on to gain revenge on the Hawks A with a 6-4 win and finished with a 4-4 draw against the Hawks B to remain undefeated after their first game setback.

On Saturday Leaders U13s travel to York for a three team tournament with York Eagles and York Vikings in the EBL NE U13 Conference.

Coaching sessions for the Dunkers U11s continue at the Foulstone School Darfield from 12.25 to 2.00. New primary school boys and girls are always welcome. Cost Â£2 pay on the day.
